If you're as K-drama obsessed as me, you've probably watched a lot of the hit shows of the year so far, but just in case you're looking for new ones to catch up on, or missed out, here's list of some of the K-dramas from 2019 that you need to get into your watchlist before you're overwhelmed by even MORE newbies! The list below are the favourites of many K-drama enthusiasts, and will have you hooked in a matter of minutes! 

1. HOTEL DEL LUNA

If you enjoy fantasy dramas, I think you're all set.This drama is indeed the most anticipated one of the year. It delivers romance alongside fantasy and horror elements with a perfect comic timings.

Hotel Del Luna is a guest house for the dead where they stay temporarily before they are led to the afterlife, sometimes the dead extend their stay because of worldly attachments and grudges. Meanwhile, the hotel offers different 'services' to the ghosts in return for Money as their boss, Jang Man-wol likes to shop and the hotel is in debt. However, The hotel is more lavish than you can imagine, operates at night and has a really unique staff. The plot really exceeded my expectations and I have enjoyed alot wholeheartedly.

2. ANGEL'S LAST MISSION

Here is one more best Fantasy Romance for the Kdrama lovers!!!  Well about the reviews, this is honestly, one of the BEST dramas I have ever watched to date! If you're contemplating whether or not to watch this drama, GO FOR IT. You will not regret your decision because this drama is just that damn good. It is the perfect combination of a good plot and well developed characters, as well as including serious chemistry between the two main leads. Hands down to the acting of Hye Sun, its just WOW and the love chemistry between the two leads is astonishing. L is, as always, eye candy and he just looks perfect from whatever angle. Great story line and hardworking cast and EVERY SINGLE episode creates a suspense.

3. HER PRIVATE LIFE

If you're looking for a light drama after a hectic day then here we go!!
The story is a romantic comedy between a talented gallery curator named Sung Duk Mi, who is also an idol fangirl, well we can say she lives a double life as both a gallery curator and a home master for a fansite about Cha Si An, an idol group member. Meanwhile, Ryan, her boss is a new director at the gallery where Duk Mi works, becomes a passionate fanboy of her. And there we go!! A passionate lite romantic comedy love story.

4. TOUCH YOUR HEART

If you are a Goblin fan then you might have wished to see a beautiful love story between a grim reaper and Sunny after they were reincarnated as a normal human.. Then Here we go!!

A beautiful sweet love story between Oh Yoon Seo, a popular actress and Kwon Jung Rok, passionate attorney for a law firm. OYS is famous for her beautiful appearance, but her acting is bad. She gets involved in a scandal with the son from a chaebol family and her acting career declines precipitously. meanwhile, she hears that a famous screenwriter wants her to play the lead female role for a drama series where the character works as a secretary for a lawyer. To gain experience for the role, OYS works as a Kwon Jung Rok's secretary for a few months. KJR is arrogant and cold-hearted. However, due to OYS's innocency and cute nature makes KJR to fall in love with OYS deeply!!

5. MELTING ME SOFTLY

Were you all waiting for Ji Chang Wook's come back or it was just me?

Well, JCW is back with a bang!! This drama is full package of Fantasy, Mystery, Sci-Fi,Comedy as well romance between Ji Chang Wook and Woo Jin Ah.

The story is about a successful P.D, "Ma Dong Chan" who always experiment things which others afraid to do and makes hits out of every show he creates. With the mysterious Doctor scientist he gets involves in a “Frozen Experiment” with "Go Mi- Ran", a fearless girl(female lead who always participate and risks her life in his variety shows). Instead of waking up after 24hrs, they wakes up after 20 years and ice dropping part is when they wakes up everyone whom he knew got aged including his girlfriend where as MDC and GMR has maintained their physique and youth from pre-freeze with a side effect wherein they needs to maintain a core body temperature 31.5 degree Celsius to survive. 

6. EXTRAORDINARY YOU

If you are looking for fresh content with great story line and best acting, then this drama is perfect for you. It is a complete package of comedy, fantasy, friendship, romance and school.

Eun Dan Oh, a 17 years old high school student, comes from wealthy family, suffers from a lifelong heart condition that inevitably means she will not live past her teenage years, thus she lives her life to its best. However, soon Dan Oh realizes she is experiencing long gaps in her memory as well, she comes into the unhappy inheritance of another fact in her life that she is a character in a comic book names "Secret"(Adapted from the webcomic series "July Found by Chance” by Moo Ryoo.) and all of her actions are predetermined by the artist who draws her. And there we go man!! She tries every possibilities to change the story line and circumvent the author’s plans for her with the help of main lead and the most handsome Haru. This show is a full of emotional roller coster. 

7. ROMANCE IS A BONUS BOOK

If you are fan of noona romance then this drama is a must watch. This drama contains equally balanced Comedy, Drama, Life and Romance. Cha Eun Ho (32 years old) is a successful and handsome writer who is also the youngest chief editor at a publishing company. He has a calm demeanor, alongside a warm heart and remains reasonable at work. Kang Dan Yi(37 years old) is a married women and a mother and was once a popular copywriter. She is now unemployed and struggling in life as her husband cheated her and ran away. She tries every thing to find a job, but even with her outstanding educational past and once good career, she cannot. However, in a desperate attempt to find a job, she lies about her background and begins to work as a temporary worker in the same building under none other than Cha Eun Ho. 
As well, Kang Dan Yi and Cha Eun Ho are childhood friends. As they meet each other time and time again, a love story begins to unfold.

8. HE IS PSYCHOMETRIC

Here comes again a fantasy Mystery drama that leaves you speechless!! Lee An has a psychometry ability that is, whenever he touches someone, he can read that person's memory. Using his special ability, Lee An wants to take down the evil guys in the world however he is still very clumsy with his ability.

Yoon Jae-In is a girl with a very big secret. She'll do anything to hide that secret. Lee An and Yoon Jae-In happen to meet and they struggle to solve cases. In this drama, the boy and girl will meet and try to fix, heal, grow, and love from the small and big occurrences that happen in their lives.

9. Search: WWW

For anyone who's hestitating to watch this: DO IT. If you like fresh, not-overly-used characters and story lines and a best women centric drama. This story depicts the three strong and impactful women who has very beautiful professional career. www is a rollercoaster ride revolving around the lives of Bae Ta Mi, Cha Hyeon and Song Ga-gyeong, all of whom are involved in the same kind of bussiness- managing a search engine. I liked the realness of this drama, the way women are portrayed in this drama is so refreshing and so relatable. there is no typical k-drama clichès, cringey scenes, etc.

10. VAGABOND

Lee Seung Gi and Suzy  Bae are back with a bang after their last korean drama "Gu Family Book" with an extraordinary charisma.

Vagabond is a complete package of action, Crime, Investigation, Melodrama, Suspence, Thriller and bit of romance and the stunts are 100% perfect. However, the ending is quite disappointment as it feels so incomplete, expecting for season 2!! I would suggest those who doesn't like entangled end must not watch until season 2 is released!!

Small summary from internet: Cha Dal Gun becomes an awakened tiger in the face of his nephew’s death in a mysterious plane crash. As an orphan himself, he had raised his nephew singlehandedly in place of his brother who had passed on. Triggered by the large-scale cover-up of the incident, he sets off on a journey to discover the truth. Go Hae Ri is the eldest daughter of a marine who had died during an operation. She has always wanted to be a normal civil servant to support her family, but life had other plans and she ends up as a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent. Their lives intertwine as they discover a tangled web of corruption behind the plane crash.

11. ABYSS

Here comes again a fantasy drama!! Well I think this year is full of fantasy dramas or is this only me who is more obsessed with fantasy supernatural stories??
This drama is kind of confusing or while watching you might get questions like why? how?? why are they complicating things?? however, the storyline is okay and cast is very good as well as end is sweet and its kind of one time watch. 

The story is about a man and a woman who tragically die and are given another chance at life through soul-reviving marbles in a magical abyss. Cha Min gets into an accident and dies. Due to the mysterious magical marble—Abyss—he comes back to life with a different appearance as an exceedingly handsome man just as bright as his spirit he had in his previous life. Go Se Yeon is a tough, accomplished, and an unrivalled beautiful female prosecutor who worked in the Seoul District public Office but gets into a fatal accident and dies. However, like Cha Min, Go Se Yeon is revived by the same magical marble- Abyss, but now in a totally different appearance. Go Se Yeon now possesses a common appearance based off of how “good” her spirit was in her previous life. Cha Min was the highly intelligent heir to Korea’s top cosmetics company but was also a smart, humble, and a kind-hearted man. Although he has both the brains and an astounding amount of wealth, he considers himself unattractive and is insecure about his looks. Go Se Yeon and Cha Min begin to work as a lawyer and an administrator at a private law firm and decide to investigate the magical incident. Romance blooms in the office as the two intertwine together to accept their same fate.
